Various field tests in literacy, post-literacy and continuing education
have been launched for the recognition of rural people’s needs and
in search of effective approaches in practice.
(1). Field-testing in literacy and adult education in Beibei, Chongqing

for community development. After consultation with Beibei Government
and Education Commission, RTCLE has selected Beibei as its field-testing
base in literacy and adult education to coordinate and promote the
state-run tests and to explore literacy approaches. Tests are conducted
at three levels, namely, literacy and adult education at primary

at senior high or higher level. Education at each level consists
of five respects: morals, basic literacy skills (reading, writing
